Tajik journalists visit Lahore on first flight of Somon Air

Lahore, Pakistan: A group of travel experts and journalists from Tajikistan visited Lahore on first flight from Dushanbe to Lahore. This event has written a new history of people to people contact between Pakistan and Tajikistan.

According to details, “Somon Air” LLC wrote a history of connectivity between Tajikistan – Pakistan aviation industry by commencing Dushanbe-Lahore-Dushanbe flight on May 6, 2016.

The first flight on this route was operated on Boeing 737-900.

According to a press statement issued by the company, Ejaz Khan, Commercial Director of Somon Air, Nadeem Cheema of ” The Concierge” GSA- Pakistan, Tariq Iqbal Soomro the Head of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Islamic Republic of Tajikistan Sharif Said and the Ambassador of the Republic of Pakistan to Tajikistan, Sharif Said attended the flight opening ceremony and came Lahore and visited different places in Lahore.

54 passengers flew to Lahore and 29 passengers flew back with the first flight. At the opening ceremonies both at Dushanbe and Lahore airports it was marked that the opening of the direct flight will significantly promote development of the relationships of the two countries. Now the citizens of these countries will not need to spend day and night to get to another country through Dubai and accordingly it will help to save money.

Currently Somon Air successfully operates flights from Tajikistan to Germany, UAE, Turkey, China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Pakistan and Afghanistan. The fleet of the airline consists of Boeing 737-300, -800 and -900 aircraft.
