MOSCOW: Moscow police have arrested a suspect in an acid splash attack on the ballet director of Russia’s Bolshoi Theater. The 32-year-old suspect, whose name has not been disclosed, has been transferred to police facilities for questioning.

The suspect was arrested outside of Moscow after police had analyzed all the mobile calls made around the time of the attack in the area of Filin’s home, where the assault took place. According to police the suspect has no connections with the theater or the ballet troupe, but was just the perpetrator of the acid splash. He had an accomplice, the police added, but it’s unclear who that accomplice was and whether or not he was apprehended as well.
