“Memorial for Martyred Journalists” of Pakistan established at Islamabad

Islamabad, Pakistan: The first “Memorial for Martyred Journalists” of Pakistan is established at National Press Club in Islamabad.

The monument was built in the memory of martyred journalists who lost their lives while performing their duties in various parts of Pakistan. President National Press ClubShakeel Anjum received guests and thanked them for attending the inaugural ceremony.

While addressing the inauguration ceremony, Chairman of Senate of Pakistan Raza Rabbani said that inaugural of memorial is commendable. He said that the nations develop by remembering their heroes.

Rabbani said that contribution of journalists for democracy in Pakistan has been critical and important, and would be remembered for all times to come. He said that journalists always stand for restoration of democracy, and protecting the Constitution and the Parliamentary democracy.
