Kyrgyz police killed 11 suspect Islamists at Kyrgyz-Chinese border
According to details available in Central Asian media reports, Kyrgyz police killed 11 suspect Islamists at Kyrgyz-Chinese border on the morning of January 23. However it is yet to ve confirmed that suspects belong to Uighur separatist group or not.
Kyrgyzstan State Border Service confirmed that there was terrorist operation on the border but Kyrgyzstan forces successfully killed militants. Search operation against more Islamist militants lasted a few hours. Whole action took place in areas Ak-Shyyrak in the Issyk-Kul region, near the Chinese border.
Reports maintained that security on Kyrygz China border has intensified on the directions of Deputy Prime Minister for Defense Tokon Mamytova and a meeting with Chinese authorities would take place soon to actively cooperate in the fight against militants.
