Indian doctors begin Sunanda Pushkar’s autopsy, minister Shashi Tharoor hospitalized

NEW DELHI: A three-member team of senior doctors at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi on Saturday began autopsy on the body of Sunanda Pushkar, the wife of an Indian minister Shashi Tharoor, who was found dead in a luxury hotel last night days after accusing her husband on Twitter of being unfaithful.

Meanwhile, Shashi Tharoor, the Indian minister of state for human resource, was hospitalized after he complained of chest pain early Saturday, however he is reportedly stable now.

The minister was initially admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) but later shifted to a ward at the AIIMS.

Everything is normal. The chest pain was normal now and his condition is stable,” AIIMS PRO MC Mishra said.

On the other hand, police investigating Pushkar’s death mysterious death on Friday night questioned a number of hotel staff and checked the CCTV fotage of the lobby of the third floor of the luxury hotel where she was staying.

The Indian media citing sources in police said that call details record of the 52-year-old Pushkar was also being checked as part of the probe into her death.

Shashi Tharoor will be officially questioned about his wife’s death by a magistrate after the funeral of Pushkar which will be held today at 4pm at Lodhi road crematorium.
