VOLGOGRAD: At least 15 persons were killed and nearly two dozen others sustained injuries when a blast ripped through a trolleybus in the southern Russian city of Volgograd on Monday, Dispatch News Desk reported.

It was the second blast in two days that rocked Volgograd city. On Sunday, a deadly suicide bombing at the city’s main train station killed at least 17 persons and wounded 15 others.

According to a source, the blast could have been caused by a suicide bomber.

The two blasts have raised serious concerns over the security situation in Russia as these attacks took place just six weeks before the country is to hold the Winter Olympics in the Black Sea resort city of Sochi.
