Hundreds arrested after anti-migrant riots erupt in Moscow’s Biryulyovo district

MOSCOW: Police arrested at least 380 persons while 23 sustained injuries during the anti-migrant riots which broke out in the Biryulyovo district of Moscow, the Russian capital, Dispatch News Desk reported.

The riots erupted when protesters stormed a shopping center‚ tipped over cars, constructing barricades and threw stones at the police in protest of murder of a 25-year-old local resident Yegor Shcherbakov who was stabbed to death last week allegedly by a migrant from the Caucasus or Central Asia.

Meanwhile, the head of the Russian Migrants Federation Muhammad Amin Madzhumder has warned members of national diasporas against walking around and visiting public places for fear of possible attacks on them in different districts of Moscow.
