30 killed as truck crashes into two minivans in northeast India

GAUHATI: At least 30 persons were killed and 10 others injured in a massive road accident involving a cargo truck and two minivans in the northeast of India on Thursday, Dispatch News Desk reported.

The accident took place on a highway early Thursday near the village of Doholapara in the Barpeta district of Assam, about 140 kilometres (90 miles) west of the main city of Guwahati, a police spokesperson said.

Police arrested the driver of the truck shortly after the accident.
